Stainless Steel Screen Pipe

Stainless steel screen pipe is a precision filtration pipe with V-shaped slots or perforations on its wall, combining solid-liquid separation with structural support. Manufactured from corrosion-resistant grades like 304 and 316L, it effectively filters sand and impurities while allowing target fluids to pass smoothly. The wedge-wire design features non-clogging Vee-shaped openings and up to 60% open area for high flow rates and low pressure drop. Widely used in oil & gas, water wells, and chemical processing, it ensures durability in harsh environments with excellent resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and high temperatures.
Product Information

Application

Stainless steel screen pipes are critical filtration components in industries requiring precise solid control and corrosion resistance.

In the Oil & Gas Extraction sector, these pipes are lowered into wellbores to prevent formation sand from entering the extraction system, avoiding equipment wear, pump damage, and wellbore blockage. The V-shaped wedge-wire slots allow oil and gas to flow freely while intercepting sand particles, ensuring stable production and extending service life.

In Water Well Drilling, screen pipes are widely used for groundwater extraction from deep and shallow wells. They filter sand and impurities from underground layers, improve water quality, and support the well wall to prevent collapse. The high open area (up to 60%) reduces water entry velocity, minimizing sand intrusion under high pressure and lowering pump abrasion.

Beyond these, the Mining and Mineral Processing industry utilizes screen pipes for tailings treatment and slurry filtration, separating solid particles from mineral slurries. In Wastewater Treatment and Seawater Desalination, they intercept suspended impurities and large particles (sand, shells) to protect downstream equipment and reverse osmosis membranes. The Chemical and Petrochemical sector relies on them for filtering corrosive fluids, while the Food and Beverage and Pharmaceutical industries use sanitary-grade screen pipes for liquid filtration requiring high purity and easy cleaning.

Compared to traditional carbon steel screens, stainless steel screen pipes offer superior corrosion resistance (especially 316L with molybdenum addition), longer service life, and reduced maintenance costs in saline, acidic, and high-temperature environments.
